Wat Somroung Knong (វត្តសំរោងក្នុង)

It’s one of the oldest pagodas in Battambang Province, approximately 5.77 km from Battambang Provincial Hall. It was built in 1707 by Mr. Thudong Chey.

As for the name of the pagoda is connected to the big tree,Samrog, has diameter 2 meters in the pagoda. Here also, there has one temple which is luxurious wooden decoration. The shrine of the chief monk constructed in 1887 where there was once a concertration camp to Khmer Rouge region, therefore, the monastery is enshrined with ashes of bone behind the new-built sanctury. Next to the pagoda fence, tourists can visit by taking photograph, taste a hot-baked bamboo rice stick known as Kra-Lan, and even visit Khmer house with sour sprice garden or beautiful plant as well.
